2022 Misc. Diamond Mountain Cabernet
Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Developing above the fog line on the shoulders of the Mayacamas Range, this wine highlights Diamond Mountain’s unique terroir located on the northwestern horizon of the Napa Valley. Grown between 1,800-2,200 feet, the fruit bathes in the morning sun, and the obsidian-rich soils help deliver a powerful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon that is both rugged and refined. Lifted aromatics of dark red plums, black cherries, kirsch, bay, iron, and crushed volcanic earth give way to a succulent palate full of black raspberries, red currant, wildflowers, cedar, and hints of toffee. The considerable tannins are elegant, laced with traces of iron ore and volcanic minerals, with the appellation’s cool climate acidity carrying the wine’s profile through to a lengthy finish.
