2022 Misc. Rutherford Cabernet
Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Rutherford’s dusty rock-laden soils create the perfect home for this Western Benchlands Cabernet Sauvignon that focuses on a sense of place. Expressive notes of wild blackberries, cassis, spiced mocha, dried violets, and warm earth transition into a palate brimming with black cherries, baker’s chocolate, sandalwood, crushed stone, and vanilla cream. The benchlands’ alluvial soils are represented perfectly, as Rutherford’s finely grained tannins of crushed gravel and clay frame the palate. The mouthfeel is rich and expansive, leading into a precise finish that epitomizes the soul of this famed Napa Valley appellation.
