This limited-production Heritage Clone Pinot Noir is made from the best old-vine Pommard, sourced from the Starscape Vineyard. The flavor captured in this bottle is as magical and impressive as the hillsides of the Russian River Valley where it is grown.
Savory and expressive aromas of black cherries, fresh plums, baking spice, Darjeeling tea, forest floor, wet earth, and crushed stones front a ripe mouthful full of spiced blackberries, wild raspberries, cherry cola, dried violets, sandalwood, and crimson minerals. Additional notes of warm raspberry compote and summer strawberries sit softly on the palate, all framed by beautiful acidity and soft tannins. The concentrated and expansive finish highlights the wine’s old-vine Russian River personality while also giving a nod to the heritage of the Pommard clone and its lineage and birthplace in Burgundy.
